The 2026 selector has ten body columns

Regular Cab uses 141.6-inch-wheelbase eight-foot-box 4x2 and 4x4 columns. SuperCab splits into 148.0-inch short-box and 164.2-inch long-box branches for each drivetrain. Crew Cab splits into 159.8-inch short-box and 176.0-inch long-box branches for each drivetrain.

High-output package-535 rows use 31,000-lb GCWR and also reach 22,000 lb, while 28,300-lb-GCWR Tremor rows isolate 18,200 lb in Crew Cab 4x4 short box.

The 6.8L gas rows span 13,800-17,300 lb. The 7.3L table separates 23,500-, 24,600- and 26,000-lb GCWR, retains blanks and prints a fixed-9900-GVWR alternative in the SuperCab 4x2 long-box 3.73 row.

Each populated bed-mounted position prints a fifth-wheel/gooseneck pair. The standard-output package-535 Regular Cab 4x2 pair is 22,300 / 22,900 lb; the high-output counterpart is 22,300 / 23,000 lb. The gooseneck number cannot be used for a fifth-wheel hitch.

The restored SuperCab short-box package-535 cells are 20,900 / 21,900 lb for standard output and high output, with the high-output 4x4 short-box gooseneck cell at 21,400 lb. Keep the precise row and column identity.

The 148.0-inch SuperCab branches return for 2026

Ford's 2025 F-250 selector contained eight body columns and omitted both SuperCab short-box positions. The 2026 guide restores SuperCab 4x2 and 4x4 at 148.0 inches with the 6.75-foot box, returning the selector to ten columns.

This change makes the 2026 table independently useful. Do not carry forward the 2025 eight-column structure, and do not assume a restored cell equals a 2024 value without checking the 2026 row.

Package 535 controls the high-capacity axle rows

Code 535 is the F-250 High-Capacity Axle Upgrade Package. It is required for the 30,000-lb-GCWR standard-diesel rows and 31,000-lb-GCWR high-output rows that produce the headline maxima.

An engine, axle ratio or heavy receiver does not prove 535 is installed. Confirm the package in factory build evidence and reconcile that evidence with the vehicle labels; aftermarket parts cannot create a Ford package identity or raise manufacturer ratings.

Packages 68U and 68D are opposite GVWR branches

The 2026 footnotes explicitly name 68U as the F-250 Greater Than 10K GVWR Upgrade Package and 68D as the Standard 9900 GVWR Downgrade Package. Selected diesel and 7.3L bed-mounted cells print alternatives for one or both packages.

Keep the package code with the exact slash value. A 68D figure cannot be treated as the base value for every 9,900-lb truck, and a 68U alternative does not apply merely because a certification label exceeds 10,000 lb.

Standard-output and high-output diesel remain distinct

Ford lists the 6.7L Turbo Diesel and 6.7L High-Output Turbo Diesel separately. Their package-535 conventional maxima match, but their GCWR and top gooseneck rows differ: standard output uses 30,000 lb and tops at 22,900 lb gooseneck, while high output uses 31,000 lb and reaches 23,000 lb.

Verify output family from reliable vehicle documentation. A model badge, appearance or seller statement is not enough to choose the high-output row.

The standard-diesel Tremor row is explicit in 2026

At 3.55 axle and 28,300-lb GCWR, Ford prints a standard-output 6.7L Tremor 17Y row for Crew Cab 4x4 short box: 18,200 lb conventional and 19,000 / 20,000 lb fifth-wheel / gooseneck. The high-output Tremor pair in the same body position is 18,900 / 19,900 lb.

The two engine-output rows are not interchangeable even though they share the 18,200-lb conventional result. Package 17Y and the exact configuration both need factory evidence.

Source blanks remain unavailable

The ordinary-diesel 23,500-lb-GCWR conventional row leaves SuperCab 4x2 short box blank. Its bed-mounted row also leaves that position blank. The 7.3L 23,500-lb-GCWR table contains additional blank Regular Cab and Crew Cab positions.

A blank is neither zero nor permission to borrow an adjacent number. Preserve the source state and obtain exact-vehicle guidance from Ford if the candidate falls into an unpopulated cell.

GCWR selects a row but is not trailer capacity

Ford states that the tables are calculated with the SAE J2807 method. GCWR is the maximum combined truck-and-trailer weight, not a trailer rating. The F-250 selector uses 21,000-, 23,500-, 24,600-, 26,000-, 28,300-, 30,000- and 31,000-lb branches.

Subtract actual loaded truck weight from GCWR as one check, then compare the result with the published trailer cell and every GVWR, GAWR, tire, hitch and trailer constraint.

Tongue and pin load consume truck capacity

Ford's notes use 10% conventional tongue weight and 15% fifth-wheel or gooseneck king-pin weight. At those planning percentages, 22,000 lb conventional implies 2,200 lb of tongue load and 23,000 lb gooseneck implies 3,450 lb of pin load before passengers, cargo and hitch hardware.

These are planning calculations, not permission to exceed payload, GVWR or rear GAWR. Weigh the complete ready-to-travel combination by axle and follow the trailer manufacturer's loading guidance.

Tailgate height does not certify clearance

Ford lists F-250 SRW 4x4 maximum tailgate height at 57.9-60.0 inches and Tremor at 59.5-61.3 inches. The source measures from level ground to the top of the closed tailgate lip at base curb weight and warns that configuration, options and tire size matter.

These figures do not approve bed-rail or pin-box clearance. Measure the actual loaded truck and trailer, then follow the hitch and trailer manufacturers' setup and articulation requirements.

The individual truck's labels and loaded weights control

Use the matrix to identify a possible source cell, then verify GVWR, front and rear GAWR, tires, engine output, axle, cab, box, drivetrain, wheelbase and factory packages on the candidate truck. The table does not state remaining payload after options and equipment.

Weigh the truck as used with fuel, occupants, cargo and hitch hardware. A published maximum loaded trailer weight cannot establish rear-axle or payload margin without exact labels and measured weights.

Canadian evidence does not certify an unseen VIN

The core table is Ford Canada's official 2026 guide and therefore Canadian-market manufacturer evidence. Ford Canada's towing resources also provide a VIN-based calculator for exact-vehicle work. The generic matrix alone cannot prove installed equipment or an unseen truck's ratings.

Use the VIN-specific build record plus physical certification and tire labels. If the output family, package code, GVWR branch or source cell remains uncertain, do not use the higher number.

2026 was reviewed independently from 2025

Although the headline maxima and tailgate ranges match 2025, the matrices do not. The 2026 guide restores both 148.0-inch SuperCab short-box columns, explicitly names packages 68U and 68D, and adds the standard-output 6.7L 3.55/28,300-lb-GCWR Tremor row.

No 2025 value was copied into a 2026 blank. Model year remains part of every lookup, and the 2025 guide stays a separate long-tail canonical.

Choose conventional, fifth-wheel or gooseneck first. Record standard-output or high-output engine, axle and GCWR, then match cab, drivetrain, decimal wheelbase and box. Apply 535, 17Y, 68U or 68D only where Ford prints the corresponding footnote.
