Ford Canada's 2024 towing guide gives six distinct F-350 rating families. Across the alternatives Ford actually prints, SRW conventional ratings run from 13,700 to 25,000 lb, SRW fifth-wheel ratings from 13,500 to 27,400 lb and SRW gooseneck ratings from 13,700 to 27,600 lb. F-350 DRW conventional ratings run from 17,600 to 28,000 lb, fifth-wheel ratings from 17,400 to 35,000 lb and gooseneck ratings from 17,500 to 38,000 lb. These are matrix boundaries, not a universal rating. The exact engine and output, axle ratio, GCWR, cab, drive, wheelbase, box, tires, package, hitch and physical truck labels must all agree. This edition also contains genuine blank body cells; none is filled from the 2023 guide or a neighbouring configuration.

Direct answer: choose one of six 2024 F-350 result families

Begin with the rear-wheel arrangement and hitch method. SRW and DRW are separate tables, while conventional, fifth-wheel and gooseneck ratings are separate results. The maximum in one family cannot be transferred to another hitch or body style.

A 38,000-lb F-350 figure is a gooseneck result for one DRW Regular Cab configuration. Its paired fifth-wheel value is 35,000 lb, and the F-350 conventional ceiling is 28,000 lb. The lowest applicable vehicle, hitch, component or trailer limit remains the operating ceiling.

Match Ford's exact cab, drive, wheelbase and box column

The SRW matrix has ten body columns. Regular Cab uses a 141.6-inch wheelbase and eight-foot box. SuperCab uses 148.0-inch short-box and 164.2-inch long-box branches. Crew Cab uses 159.8-inch short-box and 176.0-inch long-box branches. Each body is divided again by 4x2 or 4x4.

The DRW matrix has six F-350 positions: Regular Cab 141.6, SuperCab 164.2 and Crew Cab 176.0 inches, each in 4x2 and 4x4 with an eight-foot box. Four adjacent F-450 columns are outside this guide.

The 2024 SRW conventional matrix retains source blanks

Ford says the conventional values are the same for weight-carrying and weight-distributing use, but the installed receiver and loading instructions still matter. The row overview below is a selector aid, not permission to substitute the range endpoint for the exact body cell.

The standard- and high-output 6.7L diesel 3.31 rows leave both SuperCab 4x2 positions blank. Other rows also contain blank body cells. A source blank means the guide publishes no value there; it does not authorize copying a 2023 value, averaging adjacent cells or assuming the same rating as 4x4.

SRW fifth-wheel and gooseneck values stay paired but distinct

Ford prints a fifth-wheel result beside a gooseneck result for each populated SRW position. The high-output 6.7L / 3.55 / 35,200-lb-GCWR Regular Cab 4x4 all-terrain-tire alternative reaches 27,400 lb fifth-wheel and 27,600 lb gooseneck. Those two numbers remain attached to that same source cell.

Other cab, tire and axle combinations produce lower pairs. A dash or blank in either position is preserved, and a value from the adjacent hitch column is not a replacement.

Tire, Tremor and package alternatives are not global upgrades

Ford's tire footnotes distinguish 18-inch all-season from 18- and 20-inch all-terrain applications. Slash-separated alternatives belong only to the marked body cell. Confirm the complete tire specification, not merely wheel diameter.

Tremor Off-Road Package 17Y creates separate marked results in high-output-diesel and 7.3L rows. Heavy Duty Payload Package 68F creates alternatives in specified F-350 DRW Regular Cab 4x2 cells. Neither note can be applied arithmetically across the table.

Complete 2024 F-350 DRW conventional matrix

The six values run from F-350 Regular Cab 4x2 through Crew Cab 4x4. F-450 columns are excluded. Every number is pounds; an em dash below represents a genuine blank in the Ford Canada table.

The 6.8L and 7.3L gas rows omit SuperCab 4x2 and Crew Cab 4x2. Those positions remain blank even though another model year or drive column may show a number.

Standard-output diesel DRW bed-mounted ratings

Each entry is fifth-wheel / gooseneck. The 3.55 row uses 40,000-lb GCWR and the 4.10 row uses 43,900 lb. The package 68F alternative stays in the Regular Cab 4x2 cell and retains a separate value for each hitch method.

The 4.10 row reaches 35,000 lb fifth-wheel in five positions, while its gooseneck values vary by body. That repeated fifth-wheel number does not erase the configuration match.

High-output diesel DRW bed-mounted ratings

The 3.55 axle row uses 40,500-lb GCWR. The 4.10 row uses 45,600 lb and produces the highest F-350 gooseneck values. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck remain separate columns even where the fifth-wheel figure repeats.

Regular Cab 4x2 at 4.10 is 35,000 lb fifth-wheel and 38,000 lb gooseneck. Crew Cab 4x4 is 34,700/35,800. These paired cells show why a single diesel-dually headline is insufficient.

Gas DRW bed-mounted blanks remain unavailable

Ford publishes gas fifth-wheel/gooseneck pairs for Regular Cab, SuperCab 4x4 and Crew Cab 4x4, while leaving SuperCab 4x2 and Crew Cab 4x2 blank. This guide renders those blanks as em dashes rather than supplying an invented rating.

The smallest populated DRW bed-mounted values are 17,400 lb fifth-wheel and 17,500 lb gooseneck in the 6.8L Crew Cab 4x4 cell.

The 40,000-lb figure belongs to F-450, not F-350

The combined DRW page continues into four F-450 columns. Package 535 is explicitly the F-450 High Capacity Gooseneck Tow Package, and the 40,000-lb result sits in that model's branch. It is excluded from every F-350 range and table here.

Other nearby 38,600-, 36,900-, 36,800- and 30,000-lb results also belong to F-450 positions. Reading across the printed model heading is essential before quoting any cell.

2024 is not a duplicate of the 2023 guide

The broad engine families and headline endpoints match 2023, but the underlying publication does not. The 2024 matrices add explicit source blanks in SRW diesel and other rows, while DRW gas now omits both 4x2 extended-cab positions. Those changes are purchasing-relevant evidence boundaries.

The combined 2024 DRW page has ten body columns—six F-350 and four F-450—rather than the prior edition's twelve. This exact-year page therefore remains separate and does not inherit missing cells from its sibling.

GCWR is part of the selector, not extra trailer allowance

Gross combined weight rating limits the loaded truck and loaded trailer together. It is not added to a trailer rating. Occupants, cargo, accessories and hitch hardware increase truck weight and can consume payload or axle capacity before a published trailer maximum is reached.

Use a scale for the loaded truck and trailer when planning a real combination. Compare the measured total and axle weights with GCWR, GVWR, front and rear GAWR, tire limits, hitch limits and the chosen Ford cell.

Payload and rear-axle load can become the practical constraint

Conventional tongue weight is commonly planned around 10% of loaded trailer weight; fifth-wheel or gooseneck load is often estimated near 15% before measurement. These are planning estimates, not Ford ratings and not substitutes for a scale ticket.

Transferred hitch load, people, tools, fuel and accessories all bear on the truck. Subtract them from the individual truck's carrying-capacity label and verify loaded rear-axle weight against rear GAWR.

Use physical labels for the individual truck

The certification label establishes the completed truck's GVWR and GAWR. The tire and loading label states the vehicle-specific combined occupant and cargo allowance. Axle code, engine, cab, drive, box, tire and installed packages must agree with the source row.

A VIN lookup or sales listing may help identify equipment, but this research does not certify an unseen Canadian VIN. If paperwork conflicts with physical labels, pause the towing calculation and resolve the identity with Ford documentation.

The installed hitch still has its own limit

Ford's statement that conventional weight-carrying and weight-distributing figures are equal does not raise the receiver's stamped rating. Verify receiver, ball mount, ball, coupler and distribution hardware separately.

For bed-mounted towing, confirm whether the equipment and trailer are fifth-wheel or gooseneck. The two Ford columns can differ, so the hitch type is evidence rather than a stylistic choice.

SAE J2807 explains the test framework, not your exact result

Ford identifies SAE J2807 methodology in the towing guide. That provides a standardized performance framework but does not override the configuration matrix, physical labels, hitch rating or loaded weights.

A truck sharing the same engine can have a different axle, cab, wheelbase, rear-wheel arrangement, tire or package. Engine marketing alone cannot establish its trailer rating.

A defensible 2024 F-350 lookup sequence

Record model year, pickup body, SRW or DRW, engine and output, axle ratio, GCWR, cab, 4x2 or 4x4, wheelbase, box, tire and package. Choose conventional, fifth-wheel or gooseneck, then locate the exact populated source cell.

Next, verify the physical labels and installed hitch. Load the truck as used, obtain scale weights, include trailer load transfer and compare every applicable limit. If the source cell is blank, stop: this guide does not create a rating.

Questions to ask before buying or configuring one

Ask for label photographs, axle ratio evidence, engine-output identification, tire details, cab and wheelbase confirmation, package documentation and the installed hitch rating. For a working truck, list permanent bodies, tanks, tools and accessories.

Request recent loaded scale tickets when available. A seller's statement that a truck is a diesel dually or one-ton is not enough to select one of the 2024 cells.

What these sources do not establish

The official matrices do not prove the condition, remaining payload, current equipment or safe loaded combination of a vehicle that has not been inspected and weighed. They also do not provide a reliability ranking or failure rate.
