Ford's official archived 2019 towing guide gives the F-350 pickup four configuration-dependent ranges. Populated SRW conventional cells run from 12,000 to 18,000 lb, and SRW fifth-wheel/gooseneck cells run from 12,000 to 21,500 lb. DRW conventional cells run from 12,100 to 21,000 lb, while DRW fifth-wheel/gooseneck cells run from 12,100 to 32,400 lb. The 32,400-lb endpoint is a gooseneck result for an F-350 DRW Regular Cab 4x2 with the 6.7L diesel, 4.10 axle and 40,000-lb GCWR; it is not the 35,000-lb F-450 headline. Ford caps fifth-wheel use of marked DRW gooseneck rows at 27,500 lb and marked SRW rows at 18,000 lb.
Direct answer: 2019 F-350 capacity depends on four rating families
Choose SRW or DRW first, then conventional or bed-mounted hitching. Each upper endpoint belongs to one engine, axle, GCWR, cab, drive, wheelbase, box and equipment combination. A model-family maximum is not a usable rating until every selector and the completed truck's labels agree.
Fifth-wheel and gooseneck figures share Ford's bed-mounted tables but do not always share a ceiling. The gooseneck marker identifies the higher hitch method; the lower fifth-wheel cap still applies before payload, rear GAWR, GVWR, tires, receiver, hitch hardware and loaded-combination limits are checked.
| 2019 F-350 pickup branch | Populated range | Upper-end boundary |
|---|---|---|
| SRW conventional | 12,000-18,000 lb | 18,000 in selected long-box diesel cells |
| SRW fifth-wheel/gooseneck | 12,000-21,500 lb | 21,500 is gooseneck; marked-row fifth-wheel cap is 18,000 |
| DRW conventional | 12,100-21,000 lb | 21,000 appears in exact diesel configurations |
| DRW fifth-wheel/gooseneck | 12,100-32,400 lb | 32,400 is gooseneck; marked-row fifth-wheel cap is 27,500 |
Match the SRW or DRW body column before the rating row
The SRW tables contain ten pickup columns. Regular Cab uses a 142-inch wheelbase and eight-foot box. SuperCab uses 148-inch short-box or 164-inch long-box layouts, while Crew Cab uses 160-inch short-box or 176-inch long-box layouts; each appears in 4x2 and 4x4.
The DRW page interleaves four F-450 columns among six F-350 columns. The F-350 positions are Regular Cab 4x2 and 4x4 at 142 inches, SuperCab 4x2 and 4x4 at 164 inches, and Crew Cab 4x2 and 4x4 at 176 inches. All six use an eight-foot box.
| Wheel arrangement | Cab / drive / wheelbase branches | Box coverage |
|---|---|---|
| SRW Regular Cab | 4x2 / 4x4; 142-in WB | 8-ft box |
| SRW SuperCab | 4x2 / 4x4; 148- or 164-in WB | 6.75- or 8-ft box |
| SRW Crew Cab | 4x2 / 4x4; 160- or 176-in WB | 6.75- or 8-ft box |
| DRW F-350 | Regular 142; SuperCab 164; Crew 176; each 4x2 / 4x4 | 8-ft box |
| Interleaved F-450 | Regular and Crew Cab 4x2 / 4x4 columns | Excluded from F-350 answers |
Complete SRW conventional matrix
The paired body values below remain in 4x2 / 4x4 order; short / long identifies the two box-wheelbase positions within SuperCab and Crew Cab. Ford publishes one maximum-loaded-trailer-weight result per body cell in this 2019 table. The slash alternatives in the 6.2L 3.73 row belong to specified 18- or 20-inch tires, not to carrying and distributing receiver modes.
Both diesel axle rows share the displayed 28,700-lb GCWR values, but the axle ratio still belongs to the selector. The 18,000-lb conventional maximum appears only in the long-box Crew Cab 4x2 and 4x4 diesel columns.
| Engine / axle / GCWR | Regular 4x2 / 4x4 | SuperCab 4x2 short / long | SuperCab 4x4 short / long | Crew 4x2 short / long | Crew 4x4 short / long |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6.2L / 3.73 / 19,500 | 13,100 / 12,700 or 12,600 | 12,900 or 12,800 / 12,800 or 12,700 | 12,400 / 12,300 | 12,700 or 12,600 / 12,500 or 12,400 | 12,300 or 12,200 / 12,100 or 12,000 |
| 6.2L / 4.30 / 23,000 | 14,000 / 15,000 | 14,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 |
| 6.7L / 3.31 / 28,700 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 18,000 | 15,000 / 18,000 |
| 6.7L / 3.55 / 28,700 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 15,000 | 15,000 / 18,000 | 15,000 / 18,000 |
Tire alternatives are configuration evidence, not an upgrade shortcut
Ford attaches 18- and 20-inch tire footnotes to selected 6.2L conventional cells and 17-, 18- and 20-inch notes to selected bed-mounted cells. Where the source prints two values in one body position, the tire-specific condition stays with its value. The unmarked number cannot automatically be replaced by the higher alternative.
Wheel diameter alone does not prove the applicable branch. Verify the original tire size, load index, inflation requirement, wheel rating, axle, package and build record, then use the individual truck's tire and certification labels. Replacement tires cannot raise a lower truck, axle, hitch or legal limit.
SRW diesel bed-mounted row reaches 21,500 lb only as gooseneck
At 28,700 lb GCWR, the primary diesel bed-mounted row reaches 21,500 lb for Regular Cab 4x2. The remaining primary cells step through 21,300, 21,100, 20,900, 20,800, 20,700 and 20,400 lb according to cab, drive and box. These values are not a simple cab ranking because tire and optional-package alternatives sit in the same source cells.
The high values carry Ford's gooseneck marker. Fifth-wheel use is limited to the 18,000-lb fifth-wheel hitch rating on marked rows. A buyer must not read 21,500 lb as fifth-wheel permission simply because both hitch methods appear in the table title.
| 28,700-lb GCWR SRW position | 3.31 primary value | 3.55 primary value | Boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Cab 4x2 / 4x4 | 21,500 / 21,100 | 21,500 / 21,100 | Gooseneck marked; tire and Package 68D alternatives remain attached |
| SuperCab 4x2 short / long | 21,300 / 21,100 | 21,300 / 21,100 | Short- and long-box columns remain separate |
| SuperCab 4x4 short / long | 20,900 / 20,800 | 20,900 / 20,800 | 17/18/20-inch tire alternatives are cell-specific |
| Crew Cab 4x2 short / long | 21,100 / 20,800 | 21,100 / 20,800 | Gooseneck and tire markers preserved |
| Crew Cab 4x4 short / long | 20,700 / 20,400 | 20,700 / 20,400 | Gooseneck and optional-package alternatives preserved |
| Marked-row fifth-wheel use | 18,000-lb cap | 18,000-lb cap | Lower than every primary high gooseneck cell |
Package 68D creates lower alternatives, not a universal derate
The optional 10,000-lb GVWR Package 68D appears as alternate diesel values inside selected SRW bed-mounted cells. Examples range down to 12,100 lb in the Crew Cab 4x4 long-box position. Those alternatives remain attached to the exact cab, drive, box, axle and tire context printed by Ford.
A 10,000-lb door-jamb GVWR alone does not identify one capacity. Confirm that the truck actually carries package 68D and then match the whole cell. Conversely, do not apply a package-68D number to a truck whose original build and labels support a different source branch.
Complete F-350 DRW conventional matrix
The 2019 DRW conventional table publishes one value per F-350 body column. Gas spans 12,100-16,700 lb. The two diesel rows reach 21,000 lb in every F-350 SuperCab and Crew Cab position and in Regular Cab 4x2; Regular Cab 4x4 is 20,000 lb.
The 3.55 diesel row carries 36,000-lb GCWR and the 4.10 row carries 40,000 lb. Equal trailer values do not make the rows interchangeable: the axle and combined-rating evidence still has to match the truck.
| Engine / axle / GCWR | Regular 4x2 | Regular 4x4 | SuperCab 4x2 | SuperCab 4x4 | Crew 4x2 | Crew 4x4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6.2L / 3.73 / 20,000 | 13,200 | 12,800 | 12,700 | 12,300 | 12,500 | 12,100 |

| 6.7L / 4.10 / 40,000 | 21,000 | 20,000 | 21,000 | 21,000 | 21,000 | 21,000 |
Complete F-350 DRW fifth-wheel and gooseneck matrix
The six values in each row stay in Regular Cab 4x2, Regular Cab 4x4, SuperCab 4x2, SuperCab 4x4, Crew Cab 4x2 and Crew Cab 4x4 order. The 3.55 diesel row spans 27,300-28,400 lb. The 4.10 row spans 31,300-32,400 lb and carries the higher exact F-350 endpoint.
Ford marks the high diesel cells as gooseneck ratings and caps fifth-wheel use at 27,500 lb. The 27,300-lb 3.55 Crew Cab 4x4 cell is not marked with that gooseneck footnote in the source, so it remains an unmarked table value rather than being relabelled by inference.
| Engine / axle / GCWR | Regular 4x2 | Regular 4x4 | SuperCab 4x2 | SuperCab 4x4 | Crew 4x2 | Crew 4x4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6.2L / 3.73 / 20,000 | 13,100 | 12,700 | 12,700 | 12,300 | 12,500 | 12,100 |
| 6.2L / 4.30 / 23,500 | 16,600 | 16,200 | 16,200 | 15,800 | 16,000 | 15,600 |

| 6.7L / 4.10 / 40,000 | 32,400 | 32,000 | 32,000 | 31,600 | 31,800 | 31,300 |
The 35,000-lb headline belongs to F-450, not F-350
Ford's 2019 overview advertises up to 35,000 lb of Super Duty gooseneck towing. On the combined DRW page, that value sits in an F-450 Regular Cab column at 43,300-lb GCWR. The neighbouring 34,700-, 34,000- and 32,500-lb cells also belong to F-450 columns.
The highest populated F-350 cell is 32,400 lb. It belongs to a Regular Cab 4x2 DRW pickup with the 6.7L diesel, 4.10 axle and 40,000-lb GCWR. Keeping the model labels above interleaved columns prevents a 2,600-lb overstatement.
Why 2018 receiver-mode wording does not transfer into 2019
The preceding model-year conventional tables displayed separate weight-carrying and weight-distributing receiver results. Ford's 2019 F-350 pickup pages instead publish one maximum-loaded-trailer-weight result for each body cell, with tire-marked slash alternatives in selected gas positions.
That layout change is substantive. A slash such as 12,700/12,600 in the 2019 gas SRW row follows tire footnotes; it must not be presented as receiver-mode evidence copied from 2018. The installed receiver and hitch labels remain independent physical limits even though the 2019 capacity matrix uses a single result column per configuration.
Fifth-wheel and gooseneck are separate ceilings
Marked SRW diesel cells reach 21,500 lb as gooseneck ratings, but Ford limits fifth-wheel towing in those rows to 18,000 lb. Marked DRW diesel cells reach 32,400 lb as gooseneck ratings, but the fifth-wheel hitch cap is 27,500 lb.
Use the lower applicable limit from the truck table, receiver, installed hitch, coupler or ball, trailer, tires, wheels, axles and law. After selecting a paper rating, verify payload, rear GAWR, GVWR and loaded GCWR; none is increased by choosing the other bed-mounted hitch style.
Tongue and king-pin load consume payload
Ford's guide uses 10% of total loaded trailer weight for conventional tongue load and 15% for fifth-wheel king-pin load. Passengers, cargo, options and hitch hardware join that transferred load on the truck and must fit within payload, rear GAWR and GVWR.
At 27,500 lb, a 15% planning figure is 4,125 lb before occupants, cargo or hitch equipment. At the 32,400-lb gooseneck endpoint, 15% is 4,860 lb. These are arithmetic illustrations, not permissions; actual pin or tongue percentage and loaded axle weights must be measured.
GCWR is a combined-weight ceiling
GCWR applies to the loaded truck and loaded trailer together. It is not the trailer number. Subtracting a catalogue curb weight from GCWR can overstate working allowance because occupants, fuel, accessories, cargo and hitch equipment add to the truck's actual scale weight.
Match the Ford trailer row, then weigh the loaded combination and each axle. Check truck GVWR, front and rear GAWR, tires, wheels, receiver, hitch and trailer limits separately. Any lower limit ends the calculation.
Tailgate height is not a clearance guarantee
Ford lists 59.6 inches as the maximum tailgate-height reference for F-350 SRW and 58.7 inches for F-350 DRW, measured from the ground to the top of the closed tailgate. The same source states that other configurations may vary.
A towing number does not prove clearance between a fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer and the cab, tailgate or bed rails. Measure the actual loaded truck and trailer through the intended articulation range. Sliding or offset hardware cannot raise Ford's vehicle, axle or hitch ratings.
How to identify the applicable 2019 row
Confirm a 2019 F-350 pickup first; do not use chassis-cab or F-450 tables. Record SRW or DRW, engine, axle ratio, cab, 4x2 or 4x4, wheelbase, box, conventional, fifth-wheel or gooseneck method, GCWR row, package 68D and each tire footnote.
Use the VIN-linked build record, certification and tire labels, axle code and hitch labels, and note any alterations. Photograph the evidence and obtain loaded scale weights. If any selector is unresolved, keep capacity unresolved instead of choosing the largest nearby value.
Canadian trucks require exact-vehicle evidence
The matrices are Ford-authored exact-year U.S.-market evidence. They do not certify that an unseen Canadian truck received identical equipment, options or ratings. Ford Canada's towing resource is a current handoff for finding appropriate documentation, not proof that every U.S. branch transfers.
For a Canadian candidate, resolve the VIN, certification and tire labels, original build record, axle code, hitch label, recall and alteration history. Where market documentation or the truck's physical labels conflict with a catalogue row, resolve the conflict before towing.
Gas and diesel comparisons require the complete working truck
The 6.7L diesel reaches the higher published endpoints, but engine choice also changes truck weight, payload margin, maintenance, acquisition cost and the available axle and wheel arrangements. Peak torque cannot establish usable trailer or pin load by itself.
Compare exact SRW or DRW candidates against the same loaded trailer, passengers, cargo, hitch and route. Keep condition and maintenance history separate from the paper rating; this specification page does not rank reliability or predict remaining life.
Source, revision and claim limits
The figures come from Ford's official archived 2019 RV & Trailer Towing Guide, revised 18 January 2019 and visually reviewed on printed pages 24-26 on 13 September 2026. Ford's official 2019 owner-manual index supplies exact-year operating and label context.
No value transfers to 2018, 2020, another F-Series model, chassis cab, altered truck or unmatched hitch. The evidence does not establish Canadian VIN status, reliability, failure rates, condition, inventory, sellers, dealer counts, prices, financing or offers.
2019 F-350 towing questions and conclusion
What is the maximum 2019 F-350 towing capacity? In the reviewed pickup tables it is 18,000 lb conventional, 21,500 lb SRW gooseneck or 32,400 lb DRW gooseneck, each in a different exact configuration. Is fifth-wheel capacity also 32,400 lb? No. Ford limits marked DRW gooseneck rows to a 27,500-lb fifth-wheel hitch rating and marked SRW rows to 18,000 lb.
Does every 2019 diesel dually tow 32,400 lb? No. The DRW diesel bed-mounted rows range from 27,300 to 32,400 lb according to cab, drive, axle and GCWR. Begin with the correct six-column F-350 matrix, exclude the interleaved F-450 cells, and then verify labels, hitch, payload, axles and loaded weights.
