Those figures are a 2007 worked example, not a universal rule for every 6.0L. Use the exact Ford publication, not the engine badge

The reviewed supplement says it covers the 6.0L Power Stroke in F-Super Duty and E-Series vehicles, and it marks some procedures and parts by application. That is why a generic online interval chart is not enough. Record the private VIN, model year, build date, chassis family, completed body, engine label, transmission, axles and four-wheel-drive equipment before choosing a row.

Ford Canada provides an owner-manual lookup, but a successful lookup is only an access step. Save the exact publication title and revision used. If a truck has a replacement engine, altered controller, fleet-maintenance policy or incomplete-vehicle body, retain those records separately and have a qualified service provider resolve any conflict.

Normal and special operating conditions are different schedules

Ford presents a Normal Schedule, then lists exceptions and Special Operating Conditions. Do not choose the normal column because it has the longest interval or the special column because the truck is old. Classify actual use against Ford's wording. The normal oil rhythm is distance-based in the reviewed guide

The normal log lists oil-and-filter service at 7,500, 15,000, 22,500 and 30,000 miles, with metric equivalents of 12,000, 24,000, 36,000 and 48,000 km. The pattern continues through the printed log. This is direct schedule evidence, not an inferred modern oil-life interval.

Ford also explains that oil viscosity is important to the pressure used to actuate the injectors and warns that extended oil intervals can affect performance, fuel economy and engine life. Oil type, capacity, filter identity and interval remain separate fields; this page does not use the interval to approve a product or measured fill quantity.

Both fuel filters belong in the service record

The 2007 normal schedule replaces the engine-mounted and frame-mounted fuel filters together at 15,000-mile (24,000-km) steps. The maintenance section identifies two filters and says both should be replaced at the same time. F-Super Duty uses an HFCM in the frame rail; E-Series uses an FCM beside the transmission, so application still matters.

A receipt that says only fuel filter is incomplete evidence. Ask for the part numbers, quantity, date, odometer and work description. Keep water-separator response separate from scheduled replacement: when the WATER IN FUEL indicator illuminates with the engine running, Ford directs the operator to stop safely, shut the engine off and drain the FCM/HFCM using the specified procedure.

Towing changes the reviewed oil, fuel-filter and transfer-case controls

For towing a trailer or using a camper or car-top carrier, the reviewed special schedule changes engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or six months. It changes both fuel filters every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 400 engine hours, whichever comes first, and changes transfer-case fluid every 60,000 miles (96,000 km).

Those are duty-specific 2007 instructions. They do not determine trailer capacity, approve a hitch or establish how often a particular truck actually towed. Use tow invoices, hitch and bed evidence, engine-hour records and owner statements to reconstruct past duty, then reconcile the candidate with its exact manual and current condition.

Stationary and heavy low-speed work adds a three-way oil trigger

For extensive idling or low-speed heavy commercial use, Ford lists 5,000 miles (8,000 km), six months or 200 engine hours for oil and filter. If the vehicle is used for stationary operation, the calendar limit becomes three months. Whichever threshold arrives first controls the reviewed interval.

An odometer-only ledger can therefore miss the earliest trigger. Record total engine hours, idle or stationary-operation evidence where available, date and distance for every service. Ford notes that frequent or extended idle—described as more than 10 minutes per hour of normal driving—requires maintenance requirements to be adjusted; it does not supply a universal percentage-based calculator.

Dust, off-road operation and cold short trips share some intervals but not every task

The reviewed special sections use 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or six months for oil and filter under dusty-road, off-road and cold-short-trip operation. Both fuel filters use 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 400 hours. The dusty and off-road rows add their own air-filter and chassis instructions, while off-road work also names axle and transfer-case actions.

Do not collapse these categories into one severe-service label. Mark every condition that actually applies and transcribe its complete row. Canadian winter alone does not prove the cold-short-trip condition; the trip pattern matters. Likewise, an occasional gravel road does not automatically establish the same exposure as sustained dusty operation.

B5 biodiesel carries its own 2007 hour limits

The supplement's B5 section changes engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 200 operating hours, whichever comes first. It replaces both fuel filters every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 400 hours. These statements are bounded to the reviewed publication's fuel context.

A historical fuel receipt rarely proves the complete blend history. Do not label a truck compliant or noncompliant from regional availability or a seller's memory. Air-filter service is controlled by restriction evidence

Ford tells the operator to inspect the underhood air-filter restriction gauge at least every 7,500 miles (12,000 km) during general maintenance. It directs replacement when the gauge reaches 25 inches (635 mm).

The supplement warns that visual appearance alone cannot establish clogging and advises against blowing out the element with compressed air. Coolant combines an initial limit with a shorter recurring limit

The Motorcraft Premium Gold coolant record specifies an initial change at six years or 105,000 miles (170,000 km), whichever comes first. After that initial change, it specifies every three years or 45,000 miles (72,000 km), again using the earlier trigger.

A later coolant invoice does not prove the correct material, concentration, flush method or cooling-system condition. Capture the product, specification, quantity, procedure, date, distance and reason for service. A repair-driven coolant change may reset a fluid ledger only when the invoice establishes that the complete required work and refill were performed.

Transmission, axle and transfer-case tasks depend on configuration

The normal 30,000-mile (48,000-km) row includes automatic-transmission fluid and the external filter element in the reviewed guide. Other rows identify manual-transmission, axle, wheel-bearing and transfer-case work, with exceptions for axle design, lubricant and duty. F-450 and F-550 commercial applications receive distinct rear-axle instructions.

Do not copy a pickup row onto an E-Series van, chassis cab or completed commercial truck. Record transmission identification, two- or four-wheel drive, axle model, lubricant evidence, PTO and upfit. The 150,000-mile row is not a universal life-reset package

Build one maintenance ledger from every controlling clock

Create one row per task and separate distance, calendar time, engine hours, monitor or warning, measured condition and configuration triggers. Record the last documented completion under each clock. The next due point is the earliest applicable trigger, not the one that produces the largest remaining number.

For missing records, write unknown rather than overdue unless the current evidence proves the threshold was crossed without service. Service receipts need materials and scope, not just a reset

For each invoice, retain date, odometer, engine hours when available, operating-condition schedule, complaint, diagnosis, parts, fluid specification, quantities, labour operation and follow-up. A generic lube-service line does not prove both fuel filters, the correct oil, a restriction-gauge inspection or a complete coolant service.

Reconcile receipts with the physical truck and current inspection. A new-looking filter is not a dated record, and a dashboard reset does not identify the materials used.
