Chevrolet's official 2025 Trailering Guide publishes 76 populated Silverado 2500HD configurations and 152 base hitch cells. Ratings span 10,910 to 22,430 lb. The 22,430-lb maximum belongs only to a Duramax Double Cab long-bed 2WD with the Max Trailering Package, 18- or 20-inch wheels, 11,200-lb GVWR and 30,000-lb GCWR. The 2025 matrix adds two Regular Cab package rows and a second Crew Cab long-bed 4x4 package row while changing several exact limits. Match the complete row and the truck's physical labels; a model badge or headline maximum is not a vehicle-specific rating.
Direct answer: 10,910 to 22,430 lb across 152 base cells
The highest combined fifth-wheel/gooseneck rating is 22,430 lb on the Duramax Double Cab long-bed 2WD Max Trailering Package row. Regular Cab package rows reach 22,420 lb in 2WD and 22,050 lb in 4x4. The added 30,300-lb-GCWR Crew Cab long-bed 4x4 package row reaches 22,070 lb.
The maximum conventional rating is 20,000 lb on four Crew Cab Max Trailering Package rows. The lowest base cell is 10,910 lb on the two 10,000-lb-GVWR Duramax Crew Cab long-bed 4x4 rows. ZR2 Bison alternatives stay attached to their source rows.

How to use the 76-row selector
Choose Regular, Double or Crew Cab, then bed length and 2WD or 4x4. Match gas or Duramax, wheel branch, GVWR and GCWR. Max Trailering Package, ZR2, ZR2 Bison and High Country are separate configurations, not decorative labels.
The tables reproduce every populated row on numbered pages 31–36. A lower-GVWR row is not interchangeable with a higher-GVWR row. Chevrolet prints one combined gooseneck/fifth-wheel column, so this guide does not invent separate values.
Regular Cab long-bed rows
Regular Cab is long-bed only. Eleven rows include separate 2WD and 4x4 Max Trailering Package positions. The 2WD package row reaches 22,420 lb in-bed, ten pounds below the model-year headline.

Double Cab standard-bed and Max Trailering rows
The first 13 Double Cab rows cover standard-bed 2WD and 4x4 plus separate long-bed Max Trailering Package positions. The full guide's page-32 continuation band says Regular Cab even though these rows specify standard beds and the next page continues Double Cab. Chevrolet's independent three-page 2025 selector assigns these columns to Double Cab; the source conflict is disclosed rather than hidden.

Matrix accounting and what changed for 2025
The six configuration tables contain 76 populated rows: 11 Regular Cab, 24 Double Cab and 41 Crew Cab. Each row has one conventional and one combined fifth-wheel/gooseneck cell, producing 152 base cells before the two Bison alternatives are disclosed inside their affected cells.
This is not the 2024 matrix with a new heading. Chevrolet adds two Regular Cab package rows and a second Crew Cab long-bed 4x4 package row, while the 2024 Crew Cab long-bed High Country Duramax package row disappears. Exact year changes include a 10,910-lb low point, an 18,280-lb gas long-bed 4x4 cell and the new 22,070-lb 30,300-GCWR package cell.
| Branch | Rows | Base hitch cells | Important 2025 detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Cab | 11 | 22 | Two package rows added |
| Double Cab | 24 | 48 | 22,430-lb model maximum retained |
| Crew Cab | 41 | 82 | Second long-bed 4x4 package selector |
| Total | 76 | 152 | All populated exact-year rows retained |
GVWR, GCWR, payload and hitch load remain independent
GVWR selects the loaded-truck limit; GCWR caps the loaded truck-and-trailer combination. Neither is interchangeable with trailer rating. Package rows use 30,000 or 30,300 lb GCWR, while base rows use 24,500, 26,000 or 27,500 lb.
Chevrolet recommends 10–15 percent conventional tongue weight and 15–25 percent gooseneck/fifth-wheel kingpin weight. Passengers, cargo, options, accessories and hitch hardware consume payload. Confirm the certification, tire/loading and Trailering Information labels plus every axle, tire, hitch and trailer limit.
Source method and exact-year limits
Chevrolet's official 48-page 2025 Trailering Guide was extracted and visually reviewed on numbered pages 31–36. Those six pages contain the full Silverado 2500HD matrix and the Bison, bumper-hitch and prep-package footnotes. The active browser surface did not expose a trustworthy local binary for hashing, so no file hash is claimed.
Chevrolet's separate official three-page 2025 Silverado 2500HD selector independently confirms the cab, bed, drive, package and trim placements, including the 22,430-lb maximum. Both are U.S. documents: they do not certify an unseen Canadian VIN or prove installed equipment. No GMC, adjacent-year, calculated, reliability or commercial claim supplies a source position.
FAQ: does every 2025 Duramax 2500HD tow 22,430 lb?
No. The 22,430-lb value belongs only to the Duramax Double Cab long-bed 2WD Max Trailering Package row. Other Duramax base cells are as low as 10,910 lb, and cab, bed, drive, wheels, GVWR, GCWR, package and hitch method can all change the result.
FAQ: are fifth-wheel and gooseneck ratings separate?
Not in these Silverado 2500HD tables. Chevrolet prints one combined gooseneck/fifth-wheel column, so this guide keeps one combined value per row. A truck, hitch or trailer component can still impose a lower independent limit.
