The 2026 RAM 2500 is not one size. Stellantis Fleet publishes four base-model pickup columns: Regular Cab with an 8-foot box, Crew Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch box, Crew Cab with an 8-foot box and Mega Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch box. Overall length runs from 232.0 to 260.8 inches, body width is 83.5 inches and published height runs from 78.0 to 80.2 inches across the available 4x2 and 4x4 rows. The exterior table gives wheelbases of 140.2, 149.1, 169.0 and 160.4 inches. A separate configuration table prints 169.1 inches for the Crew Cab long box and 160.2 inches for Mega Cab; this guide retains both manufacturer rows and flags the discrepancy. These are 2026 U.S. base-model catalogue dimensions, not a guarantee that an optioned, loaded, modified or Canadian-VIN truck will fit a particular garage, trailer or job site.

Direct answer: 2026 RAM 2500 length is 232.0–260.8 inches

The shortest published pickup column is Regular Cab with the 8-foot box at 232.0 inches overall. Crew Cab with the 6-foot-4-inch box is 238.8 inches, Mega Cab with that box is 249.9 inches and Crew Cab with the 8-foot box is longest at 260.8 inches.

Body width is 83.5 inches in all four base-model columns. Published height is configuration-dependent: 78.0–78.2 inches for the available 4x2 rows and 80.1–80.2 inches for 4x4. Cab, box and drivetrain therefore belong beside every dimension.

Choose one of four cab-and-box columns first

RAM organizes the exterior table by Regular Cab 8-foot box, Crew Cab 6-foot-4-inch box, Crew Cab 8-foot box and Mega Cab 6-foot-4-inch box. A generic Crew Cab dimension is incomplete because its short- and long-box branches differ by 22.0 inches in overall length and about 20 inches in wheelbase.

The configuration table identifies the Crew Cab short box as single-rear-wheel only and Mega Cab as 4x4 only. This page preserves those application notes rather than filling unavailable combinations from another RAM model.

Complete 2026 RAM 2500 exterior table

The values below are transcribed from the 2026 RAM 2500 base-model exterior table. Height retains the source's 4x2/4x4 order. Mega Cab has no 4x2 height because the source identifies that body as 4x4 only.

Width and track are common across the four printed columns, but that does not make the configurations interchangeable. Overall length, wheelbase, body style, box and drivetrain still determine the applicable row.

Two official wheelbase rows do not agree exactly

The exterior table prints 169.0 inches for Crew Cab with the 8-foot box and 160.4 inches for Mega Cab. Elsewhere in the same buyer's guide, the configuration table names those wheelbases as 169.1 and 160.2 inches. Regular Cab 140.2 and Crew Cab short-box 149.1 agree across the reviewed rows.

The 0.1- and 0.2-inch differences are preserved as source discrepancies. They are not averaged, converted into extra precision or assigned to a trim without supporting evidence. For fabrication, upfit or tight-clearance work, verify the exact vehicle and current engineering drawing.

Body width and track width answer different questions

RAM publishes 83.5 inches for overall body width, 68.7 inches for front track and 68.1 inches for rear track in each column. Track is the lateral wheel-centre spacing; it is not the truck's widest exterior envelope.

The reviewed table does not publish mirror-to-mirror or folded-mirror width. A trailer deck, garage opening, wash bay or ferry lane decision needs the actual truck measured with its mirrors and accessories in the operating position.

4x2 and 4x4 height must stay separate

Regular Cab height is 78.0 inches in 4x2 form and 80.2 inches in 4x4. Crew Cab short box is 78.2/80.2 inches, while Crew Cab long box is 78.1/80.1 inches. Mega Cab is 80.1 inches and 4x4 only.

A two-inch catalogue difference matters for screening, but it is not the complete clearance margin. Tires, suspension, load, roof equipment, antennas, snow and the slope entering an opening can change the practical envelope.

The nominal box name is not its measured floor length

RAM's 6-foot-4-inch box has a published floor length of 76.3 inches. The 8-foot box measures 98.3 inches at the floor. The long box is therefore 22.0 inches longer at the floor, matching the 22.0-inch difference between the two Crew Cab overall-length columns.

Use the measured floor row when cargo length matters. The nominal box name remains useful for configuration identity, but it should not be converted into a supposed exact measurement.

Box depth20.1 in20.2 in
Width between wheelhouses51.0 in51.0 in
Wall-to-wall width66.4 in66.4 in
Cargo volume57.5 cu ft74.7 cu ft

Open-tailgate length needs operating space

From the front of the box to the open tailgate, RAM prints 100.2 inches for the short box and 120.2 inches for the long box. Those measurements are different from both floor length and the truck's overall closed-tailgate length.

Loading a pallet, motorcycle or building material also needs room behind the tailgate and space for people or equipment to move. Measure the intended site instead of adding a generic tailgate number to overall length.

Box width is shared; usable cargo shape may not be

Both boxes are 66.4 inches wall to wall and 51.0 inches between the wheelhouses in the reviewed table. Box depth differs by one tenth of an inch, and published cargo volume is 57.5 versus 74.7 cubic feet.

A tonneau cover, liner, toolbox, fifth-wheel hitch or RAMBox-style feature can change usable space. The base-model box table does not certify that a particular accessory or load will clear.

Regular Cab interior measurements

The Regular Cab front row publishes 39.8 inches of headroom, 62.9 inches of hip room, 65.9 inches of shoulder room and 40.9 inches of legroom. Maximum occupancy is listed as three.

These are catalogue seating dimensions, not a promise of comfort or proof that a specific seat, console, child restraint or mobility aid will fit. Sit in the actual cab and check the installed interior.

Crew Cab front and rear measurements

Crew Cab publishes front/rear headroom of 40.9/39.8 inches, hip room of 62.9/62.7, shoulder room of 65.9/65.6 and legroom of 40.9/40.2. The table lists a maximum of six occupants.

The front and rear numbers must remain in that order. Maximum occupant count does not override the seats and restraints actually installed or the payload consumed by people and equipment.

Mega Cab adds rear legroom, not a long box

Mega Cab publishes front/rear headroom of 40.9/40.3 inches, hip room of 62.9/62.8, shoulder room of 65.9/65.6 and legroom of 40.9/43.1. Its maximum occupancy is six.

The longer cabin is paired with the 6-foot-4-inch box in the reviewed RAM 2500 table. Do not combine Mega Cab's rear-room figures with an 8-foot pickup box or an unavailable 4x2 branch.

Catalogue height is not a garage-fit guarantee

Treat the 78.0–80.2-inch height range as a screening reference. The buyer's guide labels the dimensions for base models; it does not describe every trim, tire, suspension, roof accessory, antenna, load state or modification.

Measure the candidate at its highest fixed point and the opening at its lowest usable point. Include approach slope, door hardware, snow, suspension movement and a practical margin rather than accepting two rounded numbers that merely appear equal.

Overall length matters more than wheelbase for parking

Wheelbase describes axle spacing, while overall length includes the body ahead of the front axle and behind the rear axle. A 149.1-inch-wheelbase Crew Cab short box is 238.8 inches overall; the 169.0-inch exterior-table Crew Cab long box is 260.8 inches.

For a stall, lift, trailer or ferry reservation, use overall length and verify overhangs, hitch hardware and accessories on the actual truck. The source does not publish turning diameter in the reviewed table, so none is inferred from wheelbase.

Trailer and lift fit require more than exterior dimensions

A transport trailer needs deck length and width, ramp geometry, axle placement, tie-down positions, loaded height and measured weight. A service lift needs approved pickup points, wheelbase range, runway width and capacity.

The 83.5-inch body width and 232.0–260.8-inch length do not establish mirror clearance, tire outside width, axle weights or safe equipment use. Follow the equipment manufacturer's limits and measure the configured vehicle.

Dimensions do not establish weight or capability

Body size helps identify a row, but it does not determine curb weight, payload, GVWR, GAWR, GCWR or towing capacity. Engine, drivetrain, axle, packages, labels, occupants, cargo, hitch and trailer type still control capability work.

Use the separate RAM 2500 weight and towing guides for those intents. Keep the individual truck's certification and tire/loading labels controlling. @link RAM 2500 curb weight and calculated base weight | /research/specs/ram-2500/curb-weight @link RAM 2500 towing capacity | /research/specs/ram-2500/towing-capacity

A practical RAM 2500 fit-verification sequence

Start with the 2026 RAM 2500 pickup identity, then record cab, box and 4x2 or 4x4. Match the exact exterior and box columns, note the wheelbase discrepancy where it applies and identify equipment that changes the measured envelope.

Measure the actual truck and the narrowest, shortest or lowest constraint in its real operating state. If the decision depends on tenths of an inch, use current engineering or body-builder evidence rather than a rounded sales-table value.

Canadian-market and VIN limits

The detailed dimension rows used here come from Stellantis Fleet's 2026 U.S. buyer's guide. They establish those published base-model configurations; they do not identify the equipment on an unseen Canadian VIN or prove that every U.S. combination is offered unchanged in Canada.

For a Canadian candidate, use the build sheet, physical labels, current RAM Canada information and direct measurement. A dimensions table does not establish registration, recall, certification or legal-use status.

Model-year and body-style scope is intentionally narrow

Every number on this page is bounded to the reviewed 2026 RAM 2500 pickup tables. Cab offerings, wheelbases, body height, boxes and standard equipment can change in another year.

RAM 3500, 2500/3500 chassis-cab and completed service bodies require their own source rows. No pickup dimension is transferred to a chassis, dual-rear-wheel model, upfit or older truck.

Source, review and precision notes

The 2026 Stellantis Fleet buyer's guide was reviewed on 13 September 2026. Its exterior table, configuration table, pickup-box table and interior table were read as separate evidence modules. The two conflicting wheelbase displays remain labelled instead of being normalized.

RAM's live specification selector is retained as a companion source for a configured current vehicle, not substituted for the complete fleet matrix. Manufacturer pages and PDFs can change; preserve model year, table identity and review date with any reused value.

RAM 2500 dimensions questions and conclusion

How long is a 2026 RAM 2500? RAM publishes 232.0 inches for Regular Cab long box, 238.8 for Crew Cab short box, 249.9 for Mega Cab short box and 260.8 for Crew Cab long box. How wide is it? The reviewed base-model body-width row is 83.5 inches; mirror width is not provided there.

Will it fit a garage or trailer? Match the exact cab, box and drivetrain row, then measure the actual truck and operating space. No inventory, seller, dealer count, price or offer is inferred; the commercial marketplace remains separately protected. @link RAM 2500 model guide | /research/models/ram-2500 @link Browse diesel trucks | /trucks
