The official 2026 GM Fleet order guide publishes Sierra 2500HD curb weights from 6,257 to 8,484 lb (2,838 to 3,848 kg). The lightest reviewed cell is a U.S. 2WD long-bed Regular Cab with the L8T gas engine and 18- or 20-inch wheels. The heaviest is a 4WD standard-bed Crew Cab AT4X with AEV equipment, the L5P Duramax and 18-, 20- or 22-inch wheels. These endpoints do not describe every truck: cab, bed, drive, engine, wheel row and named configuration must all match, and GM labels the mass as calculated for nominal equipment rather than a guaranteed scale weight.

Direct answer: 2026 Sierra 2500HD curb weight is 6,257–8,484 lb

GM's reviewed matrix spans 6,257–8,484 lb, but a single range hides the configuration logic. The minimum is a 2WD Regular Cab long bed with L8T and the 18-/20-inch wheel row; the maximum is the 4WD standard-bed Crew Cab AT4X-and-AEV branch with L5P.

Both endpoints come from the U.S. order-guide matrix. The Canadian record publishes the same values in corresponding populated cells but does not expose every U.S. diesel and wheel-size row, so this guide labels those market limits explicitly.

Six selectors identify the correct curb-weight cell

Start with Regular, Double or Crew Cab; standard or long bed; 2WD or 4WD; L8T 6.6L gas or L5P 6.6L Duramax; the wheel-size row; and any AT4, AT4X, AEV, Denali or Denali Ultimate header. Model codes TC and TK identify 2WD and 4WD source columns respectively.

A body code can repeat under a named header. TK20743, for example, appears as a normal 4WD standard-bed Crew Cab and again in AT4, AT4X, AEV and Denali branches. Keep the full header, not just the model code.

Crew Cab base configurations

The four base Crew Cab columns separate standard and long beds, 2WD and 4WD, engine and wheel row. The L5P 17-inch values shown below are published in the U.S. record but omitted from the reviewed Canadian row set.

Small differences can run opposite to a simple larger-wheel-equals-heavier assumption. The 2WD long-bed L8T row is 6,803 lb at 17 inches and 6,793 lb in the 18-/20-/22-inch row; preserve the source cells instead of smoothing them.

AT4, AT4X, AEV and Denali are separate Crew Cab columns

Named configurations use the 18-, 20- or 22-inch rows rather than a portable option-weight adjustment. AT4 is published with both standard and long beds; AT4X, AT4X with AEV and Denali branches are each separately identified.

The gas Denali cells are N/A in the reviewed matrix while L5P values are populated. N/A is retained as a source result, not converted to zero or filled from an AT4 row.

Double Cab matrix

Double Cab values are published for standard and long beds in 2WD and 4WD. The reviewed Canadian record contains the L8T rows; the four L5P columns below are U.S.-only order-guide evidence and are not presented as Canadian-VIN certification.

Every number stays attached to its wheel row. The long-bed 2WD values again show small decreases between wheel rows for both engines, so arithmetic adjustments would be unreliable.

Regular Cab matrix

Regular Cab is long-bed only in this reviewed table. The Canadian record publishes both L8T wheel rows; L5P Regular Cab values occur only in the U.S. matrix and remain labelled accordingly.

The two source columns distinguish the 2WD TC20903 Pro-required configuration from the 4WD TK20903. Do not add a generic drivetrain allowance to move between them.

Wheel rows are configuration evidence, not add-on formulas

The guide publishes distinct wheel-size rows because GM does. Differences vary by body and can be positive, negative or unavailable. No universal 17-to-20-inch weight adjustment can reproduce the matrix.

Confirm the installed factory configuration and source row. Replacement wheels, tires and accessories require their own measured or documented mass rather than an order-guide shortcut.

L8T and L5P values cannot be transferred across engines

L8T identifies the 6.6L gasoline branch and L5P the 6.6L Duramax diesel branch. The engine difference is embedded in a complete configuration cell with body, drivetrain, wheels and named equipment.

Do not subtract one gas/diesel pair and apply that difference to another body. The reviewed differences vary, and blank or N/A cells remain unresolved.

Canadian coverage is narrower than the U.S. matrix

GM Fleet vehicle 23204 is the reviewed Canadian record and 23198 is the U.S. record. Shared populated cells match, including base Crew Cab gas rows, Crew Cab 18-/20-/22-inch diesel rows, named Crew Cab branches and gas Double/Regular Cab rows.

The Canadian table omits the L5P 17-inch Crew Cab row and all L5P Double and Regular Cab rows exposed by the U.S. record. This page labels those U.S.-only rows instead of using them as evidence for an unseen Canadian VIN.

N/A and omission have different source meanings

N/A is an explicit cell display, including the gas Denali branches and 17-inch named-trim positions. An omitted Canadian row means that market record did not publish the field at all. Neither state is a zero-pound value.

A future order-guide update may change coverage. Recheck the applicable market and model year before treating an unpopulated branch as available.

GM describes the mass as nominal-equipment calculated values

The official Specs / Capacities response states that mass values are calculated assuming nominal equipment and that actual values may vary due to equipment loading. That restriction belongs with every displayed curb-weight value.

Accordingly, this page uses the table for configuration comparison and identification. It does not claim that a configured truck will reproduce the number exactly on a scale.

Actual scale weight requires a defined operating condition

Options, accessories, occupants, cargo, hitch hardware, fuel state and upfits can change measured weight. For a working load calculation, weigh the truck in the intended operating condition and record what was aboard.

Compare measured front, rear and total values with the physical certification, tire/loading and axle-rating labels. Catalogue curb weight cannot replace those checks.

Curb weight does not establish payload

Payload depends on the applicable GVWR and actual loaded baseline, while axle and tire limits may bind first. Subtracting a catalogue curb-weight cell from an unrelated maximum rating can create a false result.

Use the same exact truck's labels and measured weight. Keep occupants, bed cargo, tongue or pin load and permanent equipment in the carried-load budget.

GVWR, GAWR and GCWR remain independent ratings

GVWR limits the loaded truck, GAWR limits each axle and GCWR limits the combined vehicle-and-trailer system. Curb weight describes a vehicle mass reference and does not increase or prove any rating.

Read each physical label and use the lowest applicable constraint. @link GVWR, GAWR and GCWR explained | /research/towing/gvwr-gawr-gcwr-explained

Towing capacity needs its own selector

Trailer capacity depends on engine, axle ratio, cab, bed, drivetrain, equipment, hitch type and combination-rating rows. A heavier or lighter curb-weight cell is not a trailer rating or a ranking of towing performance.

Use the separate Sierra 2500HD towing guide, then account for actual tongue or pin weight inside the truck's verified payload and axle limits. @link Sierra 2500HD towing capacity | /research/specs/sierra-2500hd/towing-capacity @link Towing-capacity tool | /tools/towing-capacity

Dimensions identify the body but not the engine or mass

Cab, bed and drivetrain geometry can help identify a source column, but exterior dimensions do not select L8T versus L5P, wheel row or named configuration. The separate dimensions intent remains DCP-0382.

Keep fit, weight and rating decisions distinct. A body that fits a site still needs its own mass, labels and capacity evidence.

Source, date and claim limits

Numeric values come from GM Fleet's official 2026 Online Order Guide, reviewed independently in U.S. Sierra 2500 HD vehicle 23198 and Canadian vehicle 23204 on 13 September 2026. GMC Canada's 2026 Sierra HD material supplies current pickup and powertrain context.

No value is transferred to another model year, Silverado by badge similarity, Sierra 3500HD, chassis cab, altered vehicle or unreviewed VIN. This is not reliability or commerce research; no failure rate, inventory, seller, dealer count, price or offer is inferred.

Sierra 2500HD curb-weight questions and conclusion

What does a 2026 Sierra 2500HD weigh? The reviewed order-guide cells span 6,257–8,484 lb. What does the Duramax version weigh? Published L5P rows span 6,895–8,484 lb, but several Double/Regular Cab and 17-inch values are U.S.-only evidence.
