The official 2026 GM Fleet order guide publishes Silverado 2500HD curb weights from 6,203 to 8,225 lb (2,814 to 3,731 kg) across 46 populated U.S. cells. That is a configuration matrix, not one weight for every truck. Regular, Double or Crew Cab; standard or long bed; 2WD or 4WD; L8T gas or L5P Duramax; 17-inch or 18/20-inch wheel row; and base, ZR2 or High Country source columns select the value. Six U.S. source positions are blank. The Canadian record matches all shared L8T cells but omits both L5P rows, so the diesel figures below remain U.S.-record evidence rather than Canadian-VIN claims. An individual truck still requires exact build identification and a scale reading.

Direct answer: reviewed 2026 curb weights span 6,203–8,225 lb

The lightest populated source cell is 6,203 lb (2,814 kg) for the 2WD long-bed Regular Cab with the L8T gasoline engine and 17-inch wheel row. The heaviest is 8,225 lb (3,731 kg) for the 4WD long-bed Crew Cab High Country with the L5P Duramax and 18- or 20-inch wheel row.

Those endpoints summarize the reviewed matrix; they do not identify a particular truck or establish available payload. Match every source selector, keep named-configuration blanks intact and weigh the actual vehicle before using mass in a load calculation.

Match all seven selectors before using a value

Begin with the 2026 model year, then identify cab, pickup-box length and drive. Next match the L8T or L5P row, the wheel-size row and any named source column. Crew Cab has seven configuration columns, Double Cab four and Regular Cab two.

A model code is not always a complete identity. CK20743 appears as an ordinary 4WD standard-bed Crew Cab, ZR2 and High Country. Retain the named column and wheel row with every number instead of collapsing repeated codes.

Crew Cab base matrix

The four ordinary Crew Cab columns cover standard and long beds in 2WD and 4WD. Each cell below is pounds with kilograms in parentheses. The U.S. source publishes all four L8T/L5P and wheel-row combinations for these base columns.

The values are not derived from one another. Even when an 18/20-inch cell is 28 lb above its 17-inch neighbour, use the published cell rather than applying a universal wheel increment.

ZR2 and High Country are separate Crew Cab columns

ZR2 and High Country repeat CK model codes but publish different 18/20-inch values from the ordinary 4WD columns. Their 17-inch positions are blank in both L8T and L5P rows. A blank is not zero, and it is not permission to insert the base CK20743 or CK20943 value.

The long-bed High Country carries the matrix maximum of 8,225 lb in its U.S. L5P 18/20-inch cell. That does not make 8,225 lb a default High Country, Duramax or Crew Cab weight.

Double Cab matrix preserves a non-monotonic source value

Double Cab appears with standard and long beds, each in 2WD and 4WD. The official records display the same 6,686-lb L8T 18/20-inch value for CK20953 in both markets, even though its 17-inch sibling is 6,958 lb.

That 272-lb reversal is preserved exactly because both official records show it. No correction, wheel explanation, package meaning or engineering cause is invented; confirm an exact build and scale weight before relying on the catalogue entry.

Regular Cab matrix

Regular Cab appears only with the long bed in the reviewed pickup matrix. Its two columns provide the overall minimum in the 2WD L8T 17-inch cell and a distinct set of 4WD values.

Do not transfer a Regular Cab number to Double or Crew Cab, and do not treat the absence of a standard-bed Regular Cab column as proof about every possible commercial or chassis configuration. This guide is limited to the reviewed retail-and-fleet pickup record.

Canadian L8T rows match, but L5P coverage is omitted

GM Fleet vehicle 23195 is the reviewed U.S. record and vehicle 23201 is the Canadian record. Retrieved on 13 September 2026, all 26 shared L8T positions match exactly across 23 populated values and three named-configuration 17-inch blanks.

The Canadian record does not publish either L5P curb-weight row. The U.S. L5P figures remain useful configuration evidence, but they are not assigned to an unseen Canadian VIN. Verify the Canadian build record, labels and actual scale weight independently.

Market recordPublished curb-weight scopeUse in this guide
U.S. 23195L8T and L5P; 52 positions46 values and six source blanks
Canada 23201L8T only; 26 positions23 values and three source blanks; matches shared U.S. cells
Canadian L5PRows omittedNo Canadian-VIN diesel curb weight inferred

The wheel labels select rows; they are not a formula

The source groups 18- and 20-inch wheels in one curb-weight row and keeps 17-inch wheels in another. Named ZR2 and High Country columns have values only in the grouped row. This structure must remain attached to the source instead of being restated as a universal wheel-weight rule.

Equipment combinations can differ beyond wheel diameter, and the CK20953 reversal shows why subtraction is unsafe. Use the exact row for catalogue research and the truck's measured mass for a load plan.

L8T gas and L5P Duramax remain separate

L8T identifies the 6.6L gasoline engine and L5P identifies the 6.6L Duramax diesel. In matching base U.S. cells, L5P values are higher, but the difference varies by configuration and is not a transferable engine-weight constant.

Engine choice alone cannot select a curb weight. Cab, bed, drive, wheel row and named branch still matter, and a Canadian diesel needs Canadian vehicle-specific verification because its L5P catalogue rows are absent here.

GM's nominal-equipment limitation belongs with every value

The official Specs / Capacities response describes these mass values as calculated assuming nominal equipment and warns that actual values may vary with equipment loading. That means a catalogue cell is not a scale ticket for a specific truck.

Options, fuel, accessories, occupants, cargo, hitch hardware, protection equipment and permanent upfits can change operating mass. Record the catalogue branch, then weigh the truck in the condition relevant to the decision.

Curb weight is not actual loaded weight

Curb weight is a catalogue reference for the stated nominal configuration. Actual weight is what a scale reports for the specific vehicle at that moment, including its real equipment and loading state.

Use certified scales and record fuel, occupants, cargo and trailer attachment when the result supports a capacity decision. A published curb-weight endpoint cannot replace that measurement.

Payload and GVWR need the same truck's evidence

Payload is not the difference between the highest GVWR found elsewhere and the lightest curb weight on this page. Use the completed truck's certification and tire-and-loading labels, account for installed equipment and confirm operating weight.

GVWR limits total loaded truck weight. Passengers, tools, cargo, hitch hardware and trailer tongue or pin weight all consume the truck's carrying allowance, but this curb-weight matrix does not publish that allowance.

GAWR, GCWR and towing capacity remain independent

Front and rear GAWR limit their respective axles, while GCWR limits the loaded truck-and-trailer combination. Tire, wheel and hitch ratings add further constraints. None can be derived from curb weight alone.

Towing capacity requires the exact engine, axle ratio, cab, bed, drive, equipment and hitch type from the applicable trailering guide. Verify loaded trailer and tongue or pin weight against every relevant limit.

Dimensions help identify the body, not the weight

Wheelbase, overall length and pickup-box measurements can help distinguish standard and long beds. They do not identify the engine, wheel row, named configuration or actual operating mass by themselves.

Use the dimensions guide for physical geometry and this page for the exact catalogue weight branch, then inspect and weigh the completed vehicle.

Upfits and alterations can change the result

Plows, service bodies, campers, auxiliary tanks, racks, larger tires, suspension changes and fifth-wheel equipment add weight or change distribution. The pickup figures here do not assign mass to a chassis cab, incomplete vehicle or altered truck.

Inspect final-stage or alterer documentation where applicable, identify permanent equipment and obtain scale weights for the intended operating state.

Source, date and claim limits

Numeric values come from GM Fleet's official 2026 Online Order Guide, independently reviewed in U.S. Silverado 2500 HD vehicle 23195 and Canadian vehicle 23201 on 13 September 2026. Chevrolet Canada's current Silverado HD page supplies pickup, cab, bed and powertrain context rather than replacement curb-weight numbers.

No value transfers to another year, GMC Sierra by platform similarity, Silverado 3500HD, chassis cab, altered vehicle or unreviewed Canadian VIN. This is not reliability or commerce research: no failure rate, inventory, seller, dealer count, price or offer is inferred.

Silverado 2500HD curb-weight questions and conclusion

What does a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD weigh? The reviewed official U.S. cells span 6,203–8,225 lb, but the correct catalogue value depends on the complete configuration. Does every Duramax weigh more than 8,000 lb? No: the published U.S. L5P cells span 6,825–8,225 lb.

Why is the CK20953 L8T 18/20-inch cell lower than the 17-inch cell? The source does not provide an explanation; both official market records display 6,686 versus 6,958 lb, so this guide preserves the values and directs vehicle-specific decisions to build evidence and a scale. Are the diesel values Canadian ratings? No. Canada omits the L5P rows, so no Canadian-VIN result is inferred.

Evidence note: manufacturer documents establish the specific facts and applications cited. Buying workflows and cost scenarios are DieselTrucks.ca editorial guidance. These pages do not publish measured failure rates or confirm the condition, recall status or capacity of a particular truck.
