The official 2026 GM Fleet order guide publishes Sierra 3500HD curb weights from 6,329 to 8,666 lb (2,871 to 3,931 kg) across the reviewed U.S. and Canadian pickup matrices. That is a catalogue span, not one weight for every truck. Regular, Double or Crew Cab; long or standard bed; 2WD or 4WD; single or dual rear wheels; L8T gas or L5P Duramax; and named AT4 or Denali Ultimate columns all select the applicable cell. GM describes these as calculated values with nominal equipment, so an equipped truck still needs an actual scale weight for loading decisions.
Direct answer: 2026 Sierra 3500HD curb weight is 6,329–8,666 lb
The lightest reviewed cell is a 2WD long-bed Regular Cab Pro with single rear wheels and the L8T gas engine at 6,329 lb (2,871 kg). The heaviest populated cell is a 4WD long-bed Crew Cab Denali Ultimate with dual rear wheels and the L5P Duramax at 8,666 lb (3,931 kg).
Those endpoints do not describe an average or tolerance. Match the complete source column and engine/rear-wheel row, then weigh the truck in a defined operating condition before calculating carried load.
| Reviewed point | Curb weight | Exact source branch |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 6,329 lb (2,871 kg) | TC30903 Regular Cab; 2WD; long bed; SRW; L8T; Pro |
| Maximum | 8,666 lb (3,931 kg) | TK30943 Crew Cab; 4WD; long bed; DRW; L5P; Denali Ultimate |
| Published L5P span | 6,976–8,666 lb | Duramax cells only; exact configuration still required |
| Actual truck | Scale result | Installed equipment, fuel and defined loading condition |
Use seven selectors before reading a cell
Start with model year and market, then identify cab, bed, drivetrain, single or dual rear wheels, engine and any named source header. TC codes identify the reviewed 2WD columns and TK codes identify 4WD, but the same TK body code can repeat under base, AT4 and Denali Ultimate headings.
A badge or model code alone is incomplete. Preserve the full header and the exact L8T or L5P row so an unrelated SRW, DRW or named-trim value is not transferred to the truck.
Base Crew Cab curb-weight matrix
Standard-bed Crew Cab is SRW only in the reviewed base columns. Long-bed Crew Cab publishes both SRW and DRW values, with separate 2WD and 4WD branches.
The table retains GM's paired pound and kilogram displays. A dash is not substituted for a configuration the source identifies as not applicable.
| Crew Cab configuration | SRW L8T | SRW L5P | DRW L8T | DRW L5P |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TC30743 2WD standard bed, Pro | 6,823 (3,095) | 7,535 (3,418) | N/A | N/A |
| TK30743 4WD standard bed | 7,144 (3,241) | 7,862 (3,566) | N/A | N/A |
| TC30943 2WD long bed, Pro | 6,965 (3,159) | 7,702 (3,494) | 7,298 (3,310) | 8,036 (3,645) |
| TK30943 4WD long bed | 7,244 (3,286) | 8,011 (3,634) | 7,578 (3,437) | 8,309 (3,769) |
AT4 and Denali Ultimate retain named branches
AT4 publishes SRW values for standard- and long-bed 4WD Crew Cabs. Its long-bed DRW positions are source blanks. Denali Ultimate publishes only L5P values in the reviewed columns, including the 8,666-lb DRW maximum.
A source blank and N/A are different states. Blank means the response displayed no value; N/A means the row is not applicable to that column. Neither permits borrowing a base or sibling value.
| Named 4WD Crew Cab branch | SRW L8T | SRW L5P | DRW L8T | DRW L5P |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AT4 standard bed TK30743 | 7,417 (3,364) | 8,134 (3,690) | N/A | N/A |
| AT4 long bed TK30943 | 7,529 (3,415) | 8,259 (3,746) | Source blank | Source blank |
| Denali Ultimate standard bed TK30743 | Source blank | 8,274 (3,753) | N/A | N/A |

Double Cab long-bed matrix
Both reviewed Double Cab columns use the long bed and publish SRW and DRW values for gas and diesel engines. The 2WD branch requires Pro trim in the source description.
Moving from SRW to DRW or 2WD to 4WD does not create a reusable adjustment. Use the exact published cell for the exact body and powertrain.
| Double Cab long bed | SRW L8T | SRW L5P | DRW L8T | DRW L5P |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TC30953 2WD, Pro | 6,798 (3,084) | 7,506 (3,405) | 7,142 (3,240) | 7,848 (3,560) |
| TK30953 4WD | 7,106 (3,223) | 7,813 (3,544) | 7,449 (3,379) | 8,155 (3,699) |
Regular Cab long-bed matrix
Regular Cab is also long-bed only in the reviewed pickup table. The 2WD TC30903 column requires Pro trim, while TK30903 is the 4WD branch.
The repeated 6,672- and 7,318-lb values remain attached to their separate configurations. Matching numbers do not make SRW and DRW or gas and diesel identities interchangeable.
| Regular Cab long bed | SRW L8T | SRW L5P | DRW L8T | DRW L5P |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TC30903 2WD, Pro | 6,329 (2,871) | 6,976 (3,164) | 6,672 (3,026) | 7,318 (3,319) |
| TK30903 4WD | 6,672 (3,026) | 7,318 (3,319) | 7,015 (3,182) | 7,661 (3,475) |
SRW and DRW are separate vehicle configurations
Single and dual rear wheels change the complete pickup configuration and cannot be treated as a bolt-on weight correction. The order guide publishes separate rows only where that combination applies.
Confirm the rear-wheel arrangement, axle and tire labels on the actual truck. This catalogue matrix does not authorize converting a rating, payload or towing result between SRW and DRW.
L8T gas and L5P Duramax values are not transferable
L8T identifies the 6.6L gasoline branch and L5P the 6.6L Duramax diesel branch. The diesel cells are heavier in each directly comparable populated pair, but the difference varies with body, drive and rear-wheel arrangement.
Do not calculate an engine-only allowance from one pair and apply it elsewhere. Preserve the exact source cell and verify the engine in build and vehicle evidence. @link 6.6L Duramax guide | /research/engines/6-6-duramax @link Sierra 3500HD diesel versus gas | /research/comparisons/sierra-3500hd-diesel-vs-gas
U.S. and Canadian matrices match cell for cell
GM Fleet vehicle 23199 is the reviewed U.S. Sierra 3500 HD record and vehicle 23205 is the Canadian record. On 13 September 2026, their column identities, populated curb-weight values, explicit N/A states and source blanks matched across the three cab groups.
That agreement supports a cross-market catalogue comparison; it does not certify an unseen Canadian VIN or guarantee that future order-guide revisions will remain identical.
GM limits the figures to calculated nominal equipment
The official Specs / Capacities material describes mass values as calculated with nominal equipment and warns that actual values can vary with equipment loading. This page keeps that limitation beside the matrix.
Options, accessories, fuel, occupants, cargo, hitch hardware, tools and upfits can change a scale result. Use the catalogue cell for research and identification, not as a substitute for weighing the completed truck.
Actual weight needs a defined scale condition
For a working calculation, weigh the truck in the condition in which it will operate and record fuel, occupants, permanent equipment, cargo and hitch components. Capture front, rear and total axle-platform results where available.
Compare the measurements with the certification, tire/loading and axle-rating labels. A curb-weight cell alone does not show weight distribution or remaining margin.
Curb weight does not establish payload or GVWR
Curb weight is a vehicle-mass reference. GVWR is a loaded-vehicle limit, and payload depends on the specific truck's label and actual baseline. Pairing the lightest catalogue weight with an unrelated maximum rating creates an invalid result.
Use the same completed truck's certification information and measured operating weight. Count passengers, bed cargo, accessories and carried tongue or pin load in the payload budget. @link How to read a payload label | /research/towing/how-to-read-payload-label
GAWR, GCWR and towing remain independent
GAWR limits each axle and GCWR limits the combined truck-and-trailer system. Tire, hitch and component limits also apply. None is raised or proven by a curb-weight figure.
Trailer capacity requires the exact engine, axle ratio, cab, drive, rear-wheel arrangement, hitch type and combination-rating evidence. Use the separate selector and verify loaded pin or tongue weight. @link GVWR, GAWR and GCWR explained | /research/towing/gvwr-gawr-gcwr-explained @link Sierra 3500HD towing capacity | /research/specs/sierra-3500hd/towing-capacity @link Towing-capacity tool | /tools/towing-capacity
Dimensions identify the body, not its weight
Cab, bed, drive and rear-wheel geometry help identify the source column, but dimensions do not reveal engine, options, nominal equipment or actual mass. DCP-0385 preserves the separate dimension intent.
A truck can match a body envelope and still differ in weight because of powertrain and equipment. Keep physical fit, weight and ratings as separate checks.
Pickup evidence does not cover chassis cabs or upfits
The reviewed records are Sierra 3500 HD pickup matrices. They do not provide a completed curb weight for a cab-and-chassis vehicle, service body, flatbed, snowplow installation or other altered truck.
Use incomplete- and final-stage documentation plus an actual scale result for those applications. A 3500HD badge does not make pickup-table figures portable to a completed commercial body.
Source, date and claim limits
Numeric values come from GM Fleet's official 2026 Online Order Guide, reviewed independently in U.S. vehicle 23199 and Canadian vehicle 23205 on 13 September 2026. GMC Canada's 2026 Sierra HD page supplies current pickup and engine context.
No figure is transferred to another model year, Silverado by badge similarity, Sierra 2500HD, chassis cab, altered vehicle or unreviewed VIN. This is not reliability or commerce research; no failure rate, inventory, seller, dealer count, price or offer is inferred.
Sierra 3500HD curb-weight questions and conclusion
What does a 2026 Sierra 3500HD weigh? The reviewed pickup cells span 6,329–8,666 lb. What does the Duramax version weigh? Published L5P cells span 6,976–8,666 lb, but the exact cab, drive, SRW/DRW and named column controls.
